Lily is leaving da house!

First of all, I would love to say that I had lots of fun doing this kind of activity....I had no idea how to create my own blog! Seriously, technology and I are not close friends and we only consider our friendship whenever I need to use it. Sounds selfish, I know, but technology manipulates us too.
Anyway, doing this activity helped me improving my English, in terms of writing, but I think that more important than that is the fact that it gave me the opportunity to express my ideas to other people.
What I enjoyed the most where the topics we focused on. Of course it's cool to gossip about a famous rock star or whatever people like gossiping about, but knowing what are my classmates opinions and for them to know what’s my opinion of what they wrote sounds like a pretty cool feedback, specially in a generation that loves to communicate it's ideas through Internet.

What I've said so far sounds like advantages, and they are. However, this is just my opinion, I love talking to people and, like I said before, my friendship with
Mr. Technology is not that cool at all- and the only interpreter I have is my little brother- but I think I should consider that most of my classmates love using Internet and stuff. Is just that being in front of a computer for long hours sounds awful to me! But this is only a disadvantage for people that stare at their computer thinking that one of these days it'll just disappear! Not my case though.

So talking about the good side and the bad one, let me tell you a little bit about my strengths and weaknesses during this semester.
Man! What a hard semester! Honestly, I think all my study methodology went away. That would be my weakness. I've been too tired to finish things on time, although that is not an excuse!
Now let's take a look on the good side…shall we? I think something really special happened to me this semester. I feel really comfortable doing stuff, even though I'm tired. I’ve been able to express whatever I want to say, whenever I want to say it (in a proper way of course)

That's why I think that the idea of doing this activity was so fun, 'cause I really didn't care about what was the right thing to say, I just expressed my thoughts and that's it.

Let me tell you something, I'll definitely keep “blogging”. Just let me work things out with Mr. Technology and I promise to continue sharing my ideas with you//

Lily wants to get out of da house!

So...I was reading all these newspapers and I decided to read about TRAVELLING!
Just a second to picture how cool our summertime will be!

Mr. Hunt, Director of Tourism in Australia, said that more and more tourists are looking for out-of- the-ordinary experiences, and not just that, but also they are looking for eco-friendly holidays too.
Since travelling is so fashionable these days- he says- industries are doing their best to catch people's attention by creating cool stuff , but also environmentally friendly experiences .
For example, nightclubs in Amsterdam with dance floors that generate electricity from dancing, or tree houses in Germany are, among others, costumers favorites experiences during holiday.

Talking about out-of-the-ordinary experiences, I was reading the guardian newspaper and I found this interesting thing about artificial surfing. Surfers living in Bournemouth, England, don't have to worry about the lack of good waves anymore. The construction of the artificial reef took 2 years and it opened just 2 weeks ago for people to have- and to pay- a great summertme!

Finally, I read New York Times Travel section and I found that the newest fashionable place to visit is...guess what.....ding ding ding Valparaiso!!!
The journalist experienced himself the excellent quality of the food of the region.
Not only he was impressed by the crab, meat, or the wine, but also for the colorful old homes that gives a beautiful touch to the city and, of course, to your meals.

Too bad I don't have time to do this!...
Anyway...I loved the website. I think we've never done something like this and I found it pretty cool. This is kind of new information but also a topic that makes us wonder too many things which I think it's the best after a class.

Lily's favorite movie...

Have you all seen this little men with hairy feet and curly hair? Or this tall and dark eyes wizard? I think you all know what I'm talking about...The Lord of The Rings.

The movie was directed by Peter Jackson and it was set in New Zealand.
The movie tells about an evil lord that wanted the power of the entire world, so he made rings as a gift for all the species on Middle Earth. What they didn't know was that those rings were just a little piece of the dark lord's plan. Although almost everybody were convinced of Sauron's power, there were some who resisted. War had begun and the ring was lost forever, but a little hobbit called Frodo found it, waking up Sauron's evilness. Now he had the task to destroy the ring...or to keep it.
I saw this movie when I was eleven , but truth is I didn't wanted to see it because LOTR was Harry Potter's cinema enemy at that time. I was in my house when my aunt made me see it. Of course, she fell asleep as soon as she saw the diretor's name on the screen but it didn't happened the same thing with me...I was shoked! I mean it....I got obsessed with it. I watched everyday after school( that means 30 times in a moth!....you know math) I learned all the dialogues, the character's names and their cultures...I even found out the names of the people involved with the movie! I went nuts! Especially for the blond hair elf...Legolas. My uncle would make jokes about his ears all the time!

Well...that movie makes me happy everytime I see it!

Hello there! Did you enjoy Sir Ken Robbinson's video?

I loved it! So funny....but of course that's not the most important thing!

I think we, as future teachers, should always consider a fundamental tool inside our classroom: CREATIVITY!

Schools are not considering it at all, and as a result, we all know the consequences...right?

But what I really liked about his speech was the way he insists on how economy disturbs the real meaning of being a teacher you know? Mbas, Phds and stuff... are we supossed to be nothing without those degrees?

That means we are not so sure about the tools we posses. How would we? We don't even know how to use the most important one...creativity...or mistakes!

This isn't just a speculation. The only thing you have to do is to read your kid or your little brother's timetable and see how that cute little piece of paper doesn't care too much about arts or music. Now see the importance it gives to math or language...wow!

Scary isn't it? But don't worry is......how do you call it? ...REALITY?!!!

Lily's cleaning the house!

Well....lots of questions...I chose this university because my uncle's friend told me about it and she said it's a pretty good college. Besides, there aren't too many options in terms of traditional universities so, I tried to choose the one that I reaaally liked.
I'm studying this specially because I love English, but I love to teach it. The translation thing is not my main interest, but to teach somebody else, kind of gives me "what I'm looking for" and that is to work at something I love.
I think that a really good professional (talking about the education area) should be able to talk with students, to let them know that u r interested in their learning.
A good professor should consider student's opinion and their role inside the classroom.
They are not machines that "decode" every single thing u r trying to explain.
Finally, I hope to be a great teacher and I also hope to have the basic tools to "sow" interest in my student so they remember me as a person that really matters what they are learning.

So...mmm...interesting, although I'm really bad at the phrasals game!
Anyway...I was looking for something special and I found this funny quizzes.
They kind of teach new vocabulary....I mean what's less formal.

Well, you know me already! I think that I always try to learn new stuff though I would study from a reeeeally different way I do now. I guess I feel more comfortable... yey!

Anyway......after readig really complex "TIPE" texts the only thing I can think of is taking a time for myself....party maybe.....sleep time perhaps......any other suggestion???
